Narratives tend to arise by themselves, they kind of evolve by their own will." "I love pre-modern art. It is an endless source of inspiration for me, a true bottomless well of ideas. Looking at some picture throughout the years, I can continue to find new elements in it, discover new qualities that I didn’t notice before. Visual artist who lives and works in Lima. Fauna forms part of "Dibujando B...", a research project by Gilda Mantilla and Raimond Chavez, around drawing, travel and latinamerican context. First phase, three week river trip from Peruvian Andes to the triple peruvian, colombian and brazilian border with notebooks and pencils. Second phase, studio work. "We like to draw; we think it underlies all we do as a knowledge and experience tool. Those connecting dots allow us to create an image of the world. Drawing may allow us to rethink it or imagine it in different ways."
