Poor

1. Uncovering lamp, 2008. Plexiglas object which gives no light but at least it does not shut off light either. Additionally, it can serve as a stand for a classical lamp with a clamp changing it in a traditional bedside lamp.
3. Mlodek, nutcracker, 2003/04. If we smash a nut with a hammer, we may find it pretty difficult to restrain ourselves from hitting it hard. This can, however, result in a complete crushing of the object. Thanks to a hollowed hammer, we can hit a nut as hard as we can, and it still will make a small cleavage on its surface.
4. Poor light, 2007. Screensaver lamp to be used in your computer.

Andy J. Miller is an illustrator, art director, designer, and musician.
'Miller grew up in a small town in Indiana drawing every cartoon and action hero he could possibly come up with. However he never considered it a serious career path until his love of music bloomed in High School, and ever since, there has been a clear purpose and passion within his work.'

Gilda Mantilla

1, 3. Fauna, 2006
2, 4. Sismographer III, 2004

Visual artist who lives and works in Lima. Fauna forms part of "Dibujando B...", a research project by Gilda Mantilla and Raimond Chavez, around drawing, travel and latinamerican context. First phase, three week river trip from Peruvian Andes to the triple peruvian, colombian and brazilian border with notebooks and pencils. Second phase, studio work. "We like to draw; we think it underlies all we do as a knowledge and experience tool. Those connecting dots allow us to create an image of the world. Drawing may allow us to rethink it or imagine it in different ways."

Takeshi Hosaka

Love house, 2005. Photo by Kozo Takayama

'Love house' was designed for a couple. On a very small site of 33 square meters, the designer planned a building of frontage 2.7m / about 9m deep. He divided the top ceiling with a huge curve and created the roof and the space, with a big hole in the centre where you can see the sky. It is located in Kanagawa, Japan. "I find the potential power of the land and create a concrete architectural form. During this architectrual process I consider and further develop the existing ideas and wishes of all people involved in the building."
