Architectural constructions that support the necessities of extremely hot climates (invaluable knowledge for the expected future dramatic rises of temperature). Made of breathable mud bricks instead of concrete which is expensive and concentrates heat. Covered with arched tin roofs to protect the bricks from the rain. 1. Corruptions series.
2. Surfaces series.
"As I see it, images – truncated representations – multiply the failure of our experiences: by essence, photography is a medium that embodies the tension created by a subject both close and remote. It is a metaphor for my own inability to grasp the world, but has the power to transfigure. For the point is also to transform an empirical subject into something new, something sculptural, with a life of its own. Transforming objects may just be the best way to describe them. Only then can we assume our presence as an onlooker, trapped in a body and a mind that must convey – or create? – reality."—Gafsou about Surfaces.

Beautiful hues. I am always fascinated by the architectural quality of objects. Probably that is what is cautivating about still lifes, they are like landscapes on a table.
"Nathalie du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux (France) in 1957, she has lived in Milano since 1979. Until 1986 she worked as a designer and was a founder member of Memphis for which she designed many textiles, carpets, furniture and objects. When the group broke up in 87, painting became her main activity."

Love house, 2005. Photo by Kozo Takayama
'Love house' was designed for a couple. On a very small site of 33 square meters, the designer planned a building of frontage 2.7m / about 9m deep. He divided the top ceiling with a huge curve and created the roof and the space, with a big hole in the centre where you can see the sky. It is located in Kanagawa, Japan. "I find the potential power of the land and create a concrete architectural form. During this architectrual process I consider and further develop the existing ideas and wishes of all people involved in the building."
